Dear FTF Member,
Support FTF by Subscribing to Hatches Today! 2011 Issue - In Stock
Since 2003 FlyTyingForum.com has grown from a handful of people to 30,000 registered members and has become the largest fly tying community in the world. In 2007 I published the first issue of Hatches because I felt the FTF community could offer a printed magazine that far exceeds anything the fly tying world has ever seen published. To this day, Hatches is largely made up of articles submitted to me by FTF member and FTF will continue to play a large role in the future of Hatches. Hatches truly is a grassroots effort, unlike many of the other publications in circulation that have the backing of large media corporations. The future of both Hatches and FTF depends on the support of FTF members like you. For $7 a year, you not only help ensure that I have the resources needed to be able to offer you all of the features you enjoy today free of charge, you also get 96 pages of pure fly tying awesomeness that is worth the price by itself. Click Here for Subscription Info Thank You -Will

I normally tie this pattern using rabbit strips for the pincers but I was bored and felt like experimenting a little bit. I don't know how well it will fish and I have never thrown a pattern with pincers like that so I don't know how well it will perform but I have seen this method in many saltwater patterns.

Looks good! I always tie my Craws in tan to simulate a freshly molted mudbug, and I make the pincers small so it's "less scary" to the fish.

Great looking crawfish pattern. I've had problems finding just the right hook for my patterns and have found that my catch rate suffers because of that. Can anyone tell me what hook was used on this pattern?

Tie a man a fly and you give him fresh air, some exercise and a lot of fun. Teach a man to tie flies and eventually it takes over all free time, a room in his house and several thousand of his dollars.

The orginal post was from 2004, this is most likely why we can't see the pic.
However, if we ask nicely we might be able to get an updated pic for our viewing pleasure.

Please, pretty please wink.gif
