The Ragin' Craven by Charlie Craven
The Ragin' Craven was originally developed as a permit fly that could be fished both on the drop and the retrieve. See, most permit flies are to be dropped in front of the fish, and act like a crab as they drop, but lack the movement and profile to entice a grab after the fly hits the bottom. You can use these fibers in place of bucktail in Clousers, Thunder creek patterns, etc. as backs and tails on flies in a pattern like a Gill Getter (calls for moose mane). The action will be somewhat different, but the flies will still catch fish. Essentially it can be used in place of any non-flaring hair.

They are great for saltwater streamer type patterns. I've been using these synthetic fibres for a while now.

Tony Spezio's been tying epoxy minnow streamers with synthetic dusters for at least 15 years... probably more.
