Since 2003 FlyTyingForum.com has grown from a handful of people to 30,000 registered members and has become the largest fly tying community in the world. In 2007 I published the first issue of Hatches because I felt the FTF community could offer a printed magazine that far exceeds anything the fly tying world has ever seen published. To this day, Hatches is largely made up of articles submitted to me by FTF member and FTF will continue to play a large role in the future of Hatches. Hatches truly is a grassroots effort, unlike many of the other publications in circulation that have the backing of large media corporations. The future of both Hatches and FTF depends on the support of FTF members like you. For $7 a year, you not only help ensure that I have the resources needed to be able to offer you all of the features you enjoy today free of charge, you also get 96 pages of pure fly tying awesomeness that is worth the price by itself. I like the STP foam frog

I also messed around with these for a while...lots of fun to tie, but not something you want to sit down and tie 10 dozen of:

there's nothing wrong with that fly, just tie in longer front legs, but not as long as the rear ones

looks like a great simple pattern. I was wondering what size hooks work the best with these templates, for the large, medium and mini templates. it doesn't really specify the hook size to use with the templates.

thx's

To tie this pattern, The STP® Frog Foam Body in three sizes: 2, 6 and 10 (using Tiemco® 8089 or equivalent hooks)

I know the TMC hooks are sized accordingly, but the Daiichi stinger hooks are different sizes and I'm not exactlly clear which ones would fit the templates

I tied up a few of the STP frogs a couple years ago. I think Norman pointed me to the template. Thanks Norm. I found I didn't like fishing them. They always wanted to land bottom up. Any remedy for this? The frogs didn't go to waste though. My wife and daughters thought they were "cute", and promptly stole all of them from my fly box. I think there is still one stuck in my oldest's cork board in her room.
