RBF: Wright & McGill Granger Aristocrat GA8642 Bamboo Fly Rod
Posted 10 April 2009 - 04:52 PM
For Your Consideration is a wonderful Wright & McGill Granger Aristocrat GA8642 Bamboo Fly Rod. This classic Colorado made rod is 8'6" long and casts a 5 or 6 wt line beautifully. This is truly one of the great classic fly rods as mentioned in many John Gierach and Ernest Schweibert stories. The Granger Aristocrat is fantastic rod to both collect and fish. Everything is full length and tight on this rod, however there is only one tip. The cork grip is in excellent shape with no issues. Original W&M Granger Nickle Silver ferrules with witness marks. The script is all there and legible on the pleasing, slightly swelled butt. The light script reading away from the grip and rough knurling on the reel seat indicate an early W&M Granger rod. Also, there is no Wright & McGill script in front of the grip on the rod. The patented internal up-locking Nickle Silver reel seat works great. Original Perfection tip top, snakes and stripping guide. Comes with the original bag and original tube with correct original label and cap. This rod needs no work and is ready to fish.
I'm selling this fine bamboo fly rod to finance some tools and materials for my bamboo rod shop. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
