CREATIVE SALMON FLY ART on CD volume 1 by Paul Rossman

Dear FTF Member,
Support FTF by Subscribing to Hatches Today! 2011 Issue - In Stock
Since 2003 FlyTyingForum.com has grown from a handful of people to 30,000 registered members and has become the largest fly tying community in the world. In 2007 I published the first issue of Hatches because I felt the FTF community could offer a printed magazine that far exceeds anything the fly tying world has ever seen published. To this day, Hatches is largely made up of articles submitted to me by FTF member and FTF will continue to play a large role in the future of Hatches. Hatches truly is a grassroots effort, unlike many of the other publications in circulation that have the backing of large media corporations. The future of both Hatches and FTF depends on the support of FTF members like you. For $7 a year, you not only help ensure that I have the resources needed to be able to offer you all of the features you enjoy today free of charge, you also get 96 pages of pure fly tying awesomeness that is worth the price by itself. Click Here for Subscription Info Thank You -Will

Hi all! Well finally I can make Volume 1 of Creative Salmon Fly Art an ornithological schema available here on the Trading Floor. It's in a pdf format so all one needs is Adobe Reader and it's a free down load. The series offers for the first time a systematic and comprehensive approach to creativity for the artistic salmon fly tier. Schema? It is defined as a diagrammatic presentation or description of structure. Each fly design will describe a (re)structuring of feathers that creates a newly ordered and catalogued inventory of natural beauty. Each volume in the series, twenty volumes in all, will contain at least fifteen flies and birds where each volume will address one or more families. Each fly is tied with only feathers from that particular bird, except the Golden Pheasant crests and herls. As each fly is illustrated, the accompanying text will describe the creative process in terms of choices as to which feathers, silks and tinsels were used where and most importantly, why they were used there.
Cost: $24.95
Payment: Paypal preferred. I will except domestic checks. I ship priority, $5.00 domestic and $15.00 international. Pm me if you have questions.
Here is what one of our members has said:

I just received my copy of Paul Rossman's DVD titled "Creative Salmon Fly Art". I recommend this highly to anyone who appreciates great writing, great photography and great flies. Paul has done a magnificient job in taking a single bird and tying an artistic salmon fly using only those feathers. His narrative explains the why he did what he did rather than how he did it.

I can honestly say that I'm not a big fan of the artistic flies; however, this work has got me thinking about changing my mind.

As an engineer by training and profession, I simply don't have the artistic talents to pull something like this off. I like 90 degree angles, parallel lines, differential equations, etc. Paul has put together a great DVD showing 15 different birds and flies. The DVD is in Adobe format so it is truly a what you see is what you get presentation.

Well done Paul. I'm looking forward to the next DVD.

And of course a portion of my proceeds will come back to the Forum for support.
Thanks.
