Great pattern Jim! I've had great success with a bucktail pattern (buckeye shiner) which has a very similar color scheme. The only difference is that I added a couple strands of yellow krystal flash along the hook shank to capture the yellow highlights along the top of the abdomen. I love the use of the rams wool along the belly of the fly.

Great baitfish tie! headbang.gif Are you fishing the Erie tribs with this pattern? Would be a great pattern in Oak Orchard for the big browns!

I filled up two shopping carts late last night
The one was full of fishing gear, the other newcastle ale
The checkout-lady laughed and said 'You think you got enough'
And I said 'Yeah, You're probably right', and filled another two carts up
Gonna catch all the fish, Gonna drink all the beer, Gonna head outta town, We're not staying here
Might take all day, might take all year, Till we catch all the fish, Till we drink all the beer

Nice this is great! The height of the bady almost matches perfectly. Great realism too. Nice tie!
T. Hess (taylorhess4@rocketmail.com)

"Fly-fishers are usually brain-workers in society. Along the banks of purling streams, beneath the shadows of umbrageous trees, or in the secluded nooks of charming lakes, they have ever been found, drinking deep of the invigorating forces of nature - giving rest and tone to over-taxed brains and wearied nerves - while gracefully wielding the supple rod, the invisible leader, and the fairy-like fly."
-by James A. Hensall, MD, 1855-
