Dear FTF Member,

Since 2003 FlyTyingForum.com has grown from a handful of people to 30,000 registered members and has become the largest fly tying community in the world. In 2007 I published the first issue of Hatches because I felt the FTF community could offer a printed magazine that far exceeds anything the fly tying world has ever seen published. To this day, Hatches is largely made up of articles submitted to me by FTF member and FTF will continue to play a large role in the future of Hatches. Hatches truly is a grassroots effort, unlike many of the other publications in circulation that have the backing of large media corporations. The future of both Hatches and FTF depends on the support of FTF members like you. For $7 a year, you not only help ensure that I have the resources needed to be able to offer you all of the features you enjoy today free of charge, you also get 96 pages of pure fly tying awesomeness that is worth the price by itself. I need some help here guys and I need it really quick. A friend of mine just called me and told me that he has a room in Pulaski, NY. This is all great! I get to go salmon fishing again this year. My problem is that when I went out yesterday to my local creek for a few hours of fishing and I noticed that my right wader started leaking sad.gif . My right foot was all wet when I was taking my waders off. I think I have a pin hole somewhere in these damn things. I thought I would have plenty of time to fix them, but sudden and good change of plans last night to take a trip to Pulaski. I need to have them functioning by this Saturday morning. I found a patch of material that came with waders but no glue. Is there a glue that I can get locally at WW, Michaels, HD, etc that will do the job? How do I find a this f@#$%^g pin hole? Any tips on gluing waders? The waders are Crystal River Boot foot waders. help.gif

Thanks to all in advance

To find the hole, I always fill my boots with water, but we have a boot dryer, so the next day, they`re dry. I don`t know if you have a dryer or not, but if you do, that`s an easy way. Maybe 5 minutes epoxy? lol. -redneck

My search on the net came up with aquaseal, but can I get this stuff locally without orderning? I have to be in a car from Philly by 7:00am this Saturday. I don't have a boot drier. Can I fill them with air from the vac and put them in a bathtub? Is there another trick to this? I would rather not get the wet because they must be glued tonight or at the latest on Friday.

Walmart here has Aquaseal<pa>. Try an outdoors shop or boat shop.

I like auqa seal myself...you can fill the waders with water and find the hole then turn them inside out and they will dry in a matter of a couple hours...plus aqua seal can be applied even to moist surfaces.

Ok I think Aquaseal is the way to go. The only question I have left is where can I get this stuff? Does Sports Authority, Dicks, HD, pet stores have it or am I shit.gif out of luck and have to order it from somewhere?

Last time I though my waders were leaking I found out it was me that was leaking. Bought a box of Grampers and now I can wade and float tube all day without leaving the water. Just kidding, for now, but, maybe someday???

A half assed fix that might get you through a day or two is duct tape. I have never tried it on breathables but it did get me through a weekend with a big hole in an old rubber pair of waders I had.

you can get it at canadian tire too if you live in canada
my waters are more aqua seal than waders, i rolled over a rock full of barnicals when i was striper fishing and it looked like someone shot my waders with a shot gun

If you're really desperate, go to a autoparts store and get a tire repair kit.

Thanks to all that replied. I bought aqua seal this morning at a local dive shop on my way to work. I already found the leak by filling waders with water. All I have to do is glue them up when I get home. Should I just use aqua seal or should I also put a patch of breathable material that came with the waders?
