Dear FTF Member,
Support FTF by Subscribing to Hatches Today! 2011 Issue - In Stock
Since 2003 FlyTyingForum.com has grown from a handful of people to 30,000 registered members and has become the largest fly tying community in the world. In 2007 I published the first issue of Hatches because I felt the FTF community could offer a printed magazine that far exceeds anything the fly tying world has ever seen published. To this day, Hatches is largely made up of articles submitted to me by FTF member and FTF will continue to play a large role in the future of Hatches. Hatches truly is a grassroots effort, unlike many of the other publications in circulation that have the backing of large media corporations. The future of both Hatches and FTF depends on the support of FTF members like you. For $7 a year, you not only help ensure that I have the resources needed to be able to offer you all of the features you enjoy today free of charge, you also get 96 pages of pure fly tying awesomeness that is worth the price by itself. have been away most of the summer working on improvements to property Jamie and I purchased in early June. While taking a week off from the "grind", I assisted Jamie with planning and organizing a big birthday shin-dig for our daughter and youngest son (thier birthdays are one day apart). While finishing the final touches Friday morning, I was phoned by Riffleriversteelheadslayer, AKA Paul Boss. Paul and his lovely bride, Brandy, phoned to say they , too, were on a bit of a vaction and heading to the Bluegrass to take in the sights at Cumberland Falls, including the Moonbow. SO....I told them about our plans and happily Paul and Brandy joined us for the party and spent most of the evening hanging out by my newly constructed brick grill and shooting the bull. It was a GREAT day. We are discusiing plans for making it a yearly event for the Boss' and the Hubbard's. I did get but one shot of Paul and the Mrs during the party (while the kids opened gifts), but maybe Paul can share a few. Not sure what kind of shots he or Brandy mayt have taken. It was fantastic to meet Paul in person, even if all he did was bitch about the humidity and heat! LOL!

Earlier this summer, Floyd and the Mrs came all the way from Arizona for Kentucky Style Ribs, and now Paul comes down for the heat and mosquitos in the yard! Been a terrific summer!

Paul, if you guys took any pics, feel free to share them. Hope you guys had a great time in Corbin. I'll be phoning you in a day or two! punk.gif punk.gif

this is going to sound weird but it wasn't as Hot and Humid in LA as it was in Kentucky or it didn't feel the same no matter I enjoyed my entire trip and next time we are going to get some fishing in for sure I did fish the Cumberland river a bit and also a bit on Rock Creek but got nothing to hand did manage to get a fish on at the creek but lost it at the shore small bass

That's good. Up here we have Pennsylvania Style ribs... Groundhogs taste just like squirrel, only bigger. And if you're real lucky, you have Pa Surf&Turf... Susquehanna Salmon and Groundhog.

LA weather is a bit nicer....air blowing up out of the Gulf seems to be more Tropical and a bit drier. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Terrific to hear you made it to Fred's. And you're correct....definately gonna get some creek time in next rip!
