Dear FTF Member,
Support FTF by Subscribing to Hatches Today! 2011 Issue - In Stock
Since 2003 FlyTyingForum.com has grown from a handful of people to 30,000 registered members and has become the largest fly tying community in the world. In 2007 I published the first issue of Hatches because I felt the FTF community could offer a printed magazine that far exceeds anything the fly tying world has ever seen published. To this day, Hatches is largely made up of articles submitted to me by FTF member and FTF will continue to play a large role in the future of Hatches. Hatches truly is a grassroots effort, unlike many of the other publications in circulation that have the backing of large media corporations. The future of both Hatches and FTF depends on the support of FTF members like you. For $7 a year, you not only help ensure that I have the resources needed to be able to offer you all of the features you enjoy today free of charge, you also get 96 pages of pure fly tying awesomeness that is worth the price by itself. Click Here for Subscription Info Thank You -Will

Very nice streamers, I like them a lot. Striper season starting in my area in a month or so, these babies (especially the whistlers) look like great striper flies. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Tom. Yes, the Whistlers are for stripers, we have them in freshwater here. But I also made them in smaller sizes hoping to attract LMB, and hybrid stripers too.

Great looking flies Kel, very neat and well proportioned. Now, this could be just me but the only gripe I would have, not so much in a forum like this but I've seen it in printed publications all the time, is photographing or rather displaying hook-point-up flies upside down. You know, not everyone is as sharp as me and a lot of beginner tiers may wondery why white is on top.
Anyway, great flies and pics. That mini clouser is killer looking with white/blue.

Thanks so much guys. Kirk, you are right about that. It is just easier to display them the other way, and take a photo. Some of them want to roll on you, or they don't let you see the fly right. I use a foam box with a piece of craft foam for a background most of the time. Here is one that came out okay when I flipped it.

But I like to see it both ways if possible...so I can imagine it a little better when tying, or imagining it in the water.

This is my first time working with balsa. This is my favorite test fly. I made a batch of 7. This is a Gilly Minnow, but I put estaz on it, I thought it helped the transition a bit better.
