From above:

Here's the recipe:
Hook: Mustad 3366 size 6
Cone: small brass
Thread: 70 denier Ultra Thread, rust
Tail: rusty marabou
Body: rusty brown ice dub in a dubbing loop, spun and wrapped
Legs: 2 sets per side, orange/black centipede legs on this color version
Wing: rusty marabou
Head: rusty brown ice dub up under the cone, over the wraps for the wing
I also did this fly in olive and plan to do one in a black/yellow combo for higher visibility in dingy water. I went with the marabou for the subtle motion at rest, and used 2 sets of legs to hopefully keep the fly hook point-up on the bottom. Even on a #6 hook, this fly is short and stubby, perfect for a hungry little carp mouth.
