These are hand held, Canon T2i with 18-55 zoom lens and extension tubes. Having a blast, can't wait till Spring.

I know exactly what you mean Chase Creek. I have been trying to get my macro photos perfected , but I am a long ways from it. These were taken out of hand on my Canon Xsi with an old 24mm 1:2.8, set at 2.8 fstop with a Canon Extension Tube FD 50

When I get a decent (any right now) tripod or uni pod to steady my shots a little more I think they will vastly improve...the pics are a 30 ga wire on a Mustad 3665A #6 Limerick hook, just to see the imperfections on the wire and hook

Ya'll are doing pretty damn good for hand held!

Chase, I like the composition and dof of your flower pics. Sometimes crystal clear sharpness is overrated especially when capturing great shapes and patterns as you've done in your flower pics.

Every now and then, I'll make a video, wish I could find time to do more; here is the link:

I've got a few folders with photos of flies, these get more updates than my videos:

You're doing great for handheld. Macro generally makes one open way up so you have to decrease your s/s to a quicker exposure. Still, not half bad for handheld. I'm impressed.
Thank you.
