The mystery for the day, what the hell is this? Found it in the basement going through some of dad's old stuff. He passed away 16 yrs ago but I know he was into reloading real big back in the 70's & 80's so I'm guessing it is some sort of reloading tool? It says "Austria" on one side and "Leobaby" on the other

Is the top bit threaded or just groves? I can't picture why the clamp handle needed a loop on it and not a plain handle.

The top is threaded and it also swivels all around as well (not rigidly mounted).

Got bored and did some research. It is a table clamp for a mannequin head for displaying hats, wigs, etc. Your just missing the head portion which screws into the top of that clamp.

Odd what you find in dusty corners

Not a bad price on Ebay though, pays for some hooks

My guess would have been a base for a small outrigger mount. Mannequins? Who would have thought?

I reckon Steve is blocking the memory of those early years when he asked santa to be a hairdresser. ;)

Talking of which did you post a pic of the finished fish tank you were building?

Nope not yet I haven't. It's basically done and just needs to be brought upstairs now. I ended up doing a total remodel job of the room that it is going to be put in and just finished that up about 2 weeks ago. But now my annual 2 week fishing vacation is coming up in early July so I'm thinking I will wait till I get back from that to put fish in it since cichlids can be aggressive towards each other (especially in a new tank) I'd hate to put them in and then leave for two weeks right away.

So I think I will bring the tank up about 2 weeks from now, get water in it and get it cycling so it is cycled and ready for fish by vacation, that way I can come back from vacation and get the fish into it then.

Hope you catch a few in your trip. I'll keep an eye out for the pics in July time.
