I have a W.E.Edwards & son cane rod. It's a quad,marked "Quadrate" no 34 length is 8ft weight is 4 3/8ozs. W.E.Edwards is from Mt.Carmel,Conn.
This rod is 3/2. The seat is black and it's warped. It has a one heck of a bend in it. I'm thinking bakelite seat.
Looking for a replacement for the seat and the owner wants me to--"slap a seat on it" Not sure if I want to do this. I'll repair it but would like to keep it original or close to it.
The owner says his father bought it 5-60 years ago. The price tag on it still says $38.00

I know I can go over to another site and ask away but we have a great group of cane builders here and would like to see if anyone here can help me.
