I know, I know ... it's shallow, but I can't help it.

I can never understand what she's saying. I usually just turn the sound off and watch her talk.

peacock sword tail

emu feather palmered up body for tail.

Had a play with emu feathers some time ago, I can not find any use for them at all. Rhea is brilliant stuff. Lots of uses for that. But the emu I could find no practical use for.

Cheers,

C.

FWIW. I tied these probably 16 years ago when I received a bag of emu feathers from a friend in Texas who had a run in with one. The bodies are emu feathers wrapped and trimmed. Tails(except on the Dun), wings and legs are all emu.

I do remember catching a few fish on the nymph and the emerger.

My emu contribution from the past. The late Bill ("Giant Killer") Catherwood used lots of emu in his deer hair creations.

My wife wanted an Emu egg off of eBay. They are malachite green. Some crafty project. The egg was packed in feathers, not styrofoam peanuts. Some of the feathers will do anything ostrich will others are more like saddle hackle. Others seemed too spikey to do anythink until I looked and experimented. Each individual feather barbs had barbules that made great midge sized ostrich type feathers for gills and such.
