mvendon 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2016 Very nice work! I'm assuming that he caught it on a pink squirrel nymph too. Regards, Mark
Bimini15 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2016 That looks amazing. Are these carved or fiberglass blanks?

prairiedrifter 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2016 Fiberglass. I have quite an inventory. I can modify and " re-sculpt " to better match your fish.
caloosa bug 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2016 I agree with the others. I've seen plenty of "ok" release mounts where they weren't quite realistic enough. You nailed this one. Great job!!

Bimini15 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2016 Right there with you, Caloosa. Here in SE Florida I see very questionable sailfish, tarpon, snook and permit mounts. Not so many questionable bass though. Perhaps it has to do with the amount of work and time it would take to do with those big fish what Prairiedrifter did with this trout. A great sailfish replica might be unaffordable. Prairie, how many hours do you put into a job like this?
prairiedrifter 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2016 Normally one day working on the blank getting it ready for paint, then a day laying down basic colors, then a day doing details. Sometimes it takes a little longer, sometimes a little less. I put this type of detail in all my fish, from small freshwater, to large saltwater fish. FlatsRoamer 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2016 How much do you charge? For like a bonefish mount?
prairiedrifter 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2016 Like this? My prices start at $23 an inch for a one sided mount. Two sided pedestal mounts are more.
josephcsylvia 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2016 Is that $23 a lateral inch or sq?
prairiedrifter 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2016 $23 a lateral inch. 20" fish = $
