That's a good article. I can see that 'jumping' action working well for zander and pike too.

Is that a generic or imitative pattern. Looks very nice.

 

 

Yes. 

 

I fish these during sulfur hatches on TN tailwaters.  Sulfurs are pretty yellow there (more orange-ish in other places).  I fish these both as a dropper on a dry fly and swung on a down and across presentation.  The beauty of soft hackles is there's almost no wrong way to fish them. 

 

Hi Cream,

What did you use for the body, pale yellow thread?

 

 

Hard to see in this pic but I used the Mil Spc method by Fly Fish Food to lightly rib the body.  It's all thread, yellow 70den UTC with the "rib" being the thread colored with a light tan marker, then coated in Loon Thin.  Here's the Mil Spec technique:
