Fellas-

Rank beginner here putting in my very first fly tying supply order.  I'm hoping someone can advise me as to a substitute for the following 2 items as I can't find them.

1.  peacock blue Lagartun wire (fine)

2.  white 74-denier Lagartun

Can anyone give me substitutes for these items?  Any info would be very much appreciated!  Doug

Try this for the Peacock Blue Lagartun Wire, ( I still have some and this is closest I have found ):

12 Blue

This will suffice for 74 Denier White Lagartun - it almost lays as flat when untwisted:

Lagartun is in a state of flux and hopefully they will get their act together and have their products readily available in the U.S. again. The Peacock Blue wire was discontinued about six years ago.

70 Denier Veevus or Euro-thread should work as well as the Lagartun.  70d Uni-Thread doesn't lie quite as flat, but probably is good enough.  There are other fine threads out there, you just need to make sure they are 70d (8/0) or finer.

UTC Ultra Wire - Small in gunmetal blue could be substituted for peacock blue.
