Fshng2 & FRN
Just to prove Im working on it.... I know they look more like a Tiny Torpedo than a Zara Spook....I got a little shaping left to do on these and they probably will look more like a Tiny Torpedo than a Spook when Im done but I think they will walk. Dont expect these anytime soon this is a labor of love.
I already trashed eight of them and had to start over.....
Just to show you what Ive done in case they work.

There would be a lot of sanding involved to turn the marshmallows down to what I posted, but yeah you could do it.
I used Waspi 1/2 & 3/4 Cylinders for these.

Someone here sent me a marshmallow they bought off eBay and its a much better choice for tying like size 8 to 2 size poppers.
I just havent bought any yet.

You're on the right track, Mike.  I pulled a lure body, out of my fix up lure box and  it's marked "Heddon Baby Zara".  It doesn't look like the Zara Spooks I'm used to, more of a tear drop shape, wide in the front and a sharp taper in the rear.  The main difference is the hook comes straight out rather than from the bottom.  If you're interested I can take a couple of pictures of it and post them.  I picked up some of those foam marshmallows from Michael's a few years ago.  Still have most of them, just found them to soft to really shape and sand.  They do make decent Bob's Bangers.

Thx
Well heres what not to do when making poppers
So I was cooking ribs yesterday Oven at 225°...Ribs are done take them out turn the oven off leave the oven door open for about 15 minutes And then I put about 50 poppers that were mounted on a piece of Styrofoam in the oven to help the paint dry faster

I had Raineys , Waspi, Flyman Double barell and marshmallow poppers on it
This is what happened to all 12 Double Barell poppers...I had some man hours into these things

Ouch!  Nothing good to say about losing hours of work.  Knowing that you'll likely never make that mistake again doesn't help.

I've had success using a hair dryer to quick dry popper paint.

Double barrel poppers ARE very marshmallow like.  Painting them the way I do it is interesting since the lightest touch presses into the body.

OK FRN & Fshng2
They are pretty much done. I temporarily tied a couple mop tails on these(1 inch)and they look stupid, Not long enough they just dont look right.

These need Orvis Magmum Dragon Tails on them... just watched a video on them the other day theyre great... Nice walk the dog action on them.

I just cant afford a buy any right now so you will have to wait till I can.
