Ostrich Egg

tied by deeky
Fly Type: Streamers,
Target Species: Freshwater Bass,
Recommended Region: Central US,
Imitation: General Baitfish,
Material List: Hook: Gamakatsu 210011, 1/0
Thread: Danville Flat Waxed Nylon, Fl. Pink; Danville Flymaster 6/0, white
Tail: Rooster saddle Hackles, white; Angel Hair, white pearl
Body: Glo Bug Yarn, shrimp pink
Collar: Marabou, cream; Mallard flank
Tying Instructions: Using the fl. orange thread, tie in the saddle hackles and flash. Then tie two clumps (4 strands each) of egg yarn right next to each other. Be sure to leave just enough room at the head for the marabou and mallard flank. Whip and snip the thread and trim egg yarn into a cylinder shape very close to shank. Switch to the white thread and tie in marabou. I coat the thread base with super glue before wrapping the marabou to add a little durability. Then tie in and wrap the mallard flank. Whip, snip, and fish.
