Merkin Crab

tied by siestafred
Fly Type: General Saltwater,
Target Species: Redfish,
Imitation: Crabs,
Material List:
Hook: Mustad 34007 #2
Thread: Flat Waxed
Eyes: XS Dumbell
Tail/Claws: Brown Marabou, a hank of Redfish Flash & Slinky, Copper/Black Flash
Body : Brown Sparkle Yarn
Legs: Silicone Grizzly Pumpkin/Green
Tying Instructions: This one I tied with the yarn on the bottom of the shank, although usually I tie it on the top because it's easier. I'm not sure the Reds know the difference unless they really have a lot of time to look at it, which they usually don't !
I also tie the body in Green/Brown with Chartruese thread, and that seems to work great.
