Start with the hackle and tie it in over the hook eye concave side up. Proceed to the rear of the hook and tie in a short tag. Stack and tie in a small amount of dark deer for the tail. I like to use hair with well marked tips. Build a nicely tapered body with the burlap and rough it up with a tool. Wrap the hackle rearward just in front of the burlap and tie in. Wrap through the hackle to the front and finish the head.Presentation Tips:
Drift or swing. Try a Leisenring Lift to spotted fish.
