Marabou Mayfly Nymph

tied by KeatonsDad
Fly Type: Nymphs, General Freshwater,
Target Species: Panfish, Trout,
Recommended Region: Northeast US, Northwest US, Central US, Alaska, Western Canada, Eastern Canada, Central Canada, New Zealand,
Imitation: Caddis Flies, Mayflies,
Material List:
Hook: TMC200R or similar
Tail: Partridge Fibers
Body: Marabou fibers (brown)
Rib: Small Copper Wire
Thorax: Marabou Fibers (Brown)
Wing Case: Pheasant Tail
Legs: Partridge

Tying Instructions: The body and the thorax of this fly are made by tying 5-6 Select Marabou fibers in by the tips then twisting them together, and wrapping them forward like herl. When tying in the body I tie them in closer to the tips so the body is more slender and tapers slowly, while when tying them in for the throax I tie them in a little further toward the middle and build up a thicker looking ball.
