Hook: TMC 100 12 to 20
Body: Dry fly dubbing to match wing material
Wing: All purpose deer body hair applied in three separate applications separated by dubbing.
Tying Instructions: Lay down a thread base to the bend of the hook dub small ball of dubbing. Tie in bunch of deer hair with tips extending slightly past hook bend.
NOTE: do not spin the hair, keep it on top of shank. Dub in second body segment and tie in second bunch of hair, and repeat a third time. tie in brown hackle and wrap in front of wing. tie off and whip finish head.
Presentation Tips: This pattern was developed by Nelson Ishiyama and featured in an article in Fly fisherman in the 80's. It floats like a cork and is a great swift water fly. I have never understood why it never became more popular.
