Fly Type: Miscellaneous,
Recommended Region: Other,
Imitation: Ants/Beetles,
Material List*:
Once again, my Mantis is tied in the same way as all my flies. The insects forward legs were difficult to replicate and in the end I chose to tie layers of micro chenille on top of each other to create the basic leg shape and then tie Peccary barb tips as the teeth on the legs. The final layer is stalcups Medallion sheeting and Raffene.

Tying Instructions: To create fine Anteannae I used Porcupine guard hairs. The head shape ws created using Japanese Nymph Leg shafts, Chenille and Raffene.
