Tying Instructions: Start the thread, wind to the hook point, leaving a 4-inch tag Attach and wind a goose biot, rough side out Spin the thread counter-clockwise to tighten, then rib the biot (carefully) Dub the thread, create a tight thorax, then half-hitch Prepare a CDC and 3-4 strands of flash material using the Petitjean Magic Tool Split the thread, insert hackle strands, adjust to 1.5 inches Spin the bobbin counter-clockwise to tighten, then wind a few turns of hackle, stroking toward the rear to avoid trapping the fibers Create a thread head, whip finish, apply head cement Remove fly from vise and trim fibers to length as needed Presentation Tips: The Petitjean Magic Tool is sold by Feather-Craft (and others).
