simple olive nymph

tied by flytire
Fly Type: Nymphs,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: Northeast US,
Imitation: Mayflies,
Material List:
hook - your favorite brand and style

bead - your favorite color bead in brass or tungsten

thread - your favorite brand, size and color

tail - coq de leon or grizzly fibers

body - liquid lace tubing and black ultra wire in what ever color you want. you can substitute the tubing with v-rib, d-rib, round rib, body glass or just use thread

thorax - your favorite dubbing
Tying Instructions: look at the step by step photos and use them to tie your flies. no additional need for written tying instructions.

when i tie in body materials such as the liquid lace and wire, i like to tie them in behind the bead. i then proceed to wrap these items to the bend of the hook, keeping the materials on top of the hook shank. this will eliminate any humps or bumps in the body that would occur if i tied these materials at the bend of the hook.

use your imagination and experiment with different style hooks, materials and colors

in step 5a, (that would be the 6th photo) i coated the finished body with one of the uv cured goos. it is not necessary but i show it as an option.
Presentation Tips: its a nymph pattern, fish it with your best nymphing techniques
