Fly Type: Dry,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: Southwest US,
Imitation: Mayflies,
Material List:
Hook: 1x long #12- #16 Dry Fly Hook of choice
Thread: Brown, Cream 8/0
Tail: Natural Mule Deer Hair
Rib: Brown Tying Thread
Thorax: Cream Touch Dubbing
Wing: Whit Kip tail
Hackle: Grizzly, Parachute Style
Tying Instructions: Start your thread onto the hook. Now select a small clup of deer hair and stack it in a hair stacker. Tie the clump in, making sure it doesnt flare, and trim waste ends. Then pull several barbs from a light dun or cream hackle feather, measure them by making sure the extend a inch and a half from the deer hair, and then tie in and trim waste ends. Now proceed to wrap your thread foward around the clump and then return to the hook. Now stack a good amount of kip tail in a hair stacker and then tie in. Trim the waste ends and then proceed to make a forked kip-tail wing and make it lean foward a little. Now dub the thorax till it reaches the wing and then tie in a grizzly hackle feather according to the hook size. Wrap the feather parachute style around the wings, but dont make them lean towards each other. Make a neat head of dubbing and then whip- finish and apply head cement. The fly is done!
