hook: mustad 32756 size 6 jig hook
thread: brown, olive, black, whatever. 140 denier
Mouth parts: crayfish orange rabbit fur
Flash: copper Krystal flash
Antenna: orange rubber legs
Claws/ legs: brown marabou feather, wrapped about 3 turns.
body: spirit river "pseudo peacock dubbing, bronze" or long fiber dubbing of choice.
wire: orange ultra wire, brassie size, or whatever you have.
weight: small bead chain eyes, brown, black
Tying Instructions: Tie in bead chain eyes near eye of hook (right before the bend near the eye). Move thread to bend of the hook. Tie in a small clump of orange rabbit fur, or olive, or brown. Tie in about 4 strands of copper crystal flash, 2 on either side of the rabbit fur. Should be slightly longer than the rabbit fur. Then tie in 2 rubber legs on either side. Should be about the same length as the krystal flash. Tie in a brown or olive marabou feather and wrap about 3 or so turns. tie off. Next tie in a section of wire. Then either make a dubbing loop, or spit the thread. Add some long fiber dubbing to the loop/ split thread. Wrap back to eye, and between/ around bead chain eyes. Tie off the wire just before the bead chain eyes. Move thread behind the bead chain, whip finish.
Presentation Tips: Bounce along bottom. Crawl slow on the bottom, swing it through riffles. Anything you may see a real crayfish do.
