Orange Wet Fly

Fly Type: Hairwing,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: Eastern Canada,
Imitation: General Baitfish,
•Hook - Sz8 - 2xl Bronze Lure
•Rib - Gold Mylar uni #14
•Body - Orange Floss
•Wing - (in order) orange calf tail and orange squirrel.
•Thorax - SDNS orange Shimmer dub
•Collar/Hackle - teal flank natural
Tying Instructions: Tie in the mylar above the barb and then move to the side.
Tie in the floss then wrap thread evenly about 2/3 the way up the shaft.
Wrap floss as even as possible up to the thread, tie down and snip off excess.
Wrap mylar once in a band to create tag then wrap up to the thread with about 3-4 wraps.
Tie down securely and snip off excess.
Tie down the calf tail, wrap 3-4 timed securely, cut off excess at an angle and place a dab of cement before wrapping a few more times to secure.
Tie down the squirrel tail, wrap 3-4 times securely, cut off excess at an angle and place a dab of cement before wrapping a few more times to secure.
Wrap thread up to eye and back down shank.
Wax thread and apply dubbing, 3-4 wraps.
Leave enough room behind eye for collar and head.
Tie in the flank for collar by the tip and palmer back during the 2-3 wraps.
Tie down securely, snip off excess flank and wrap securely and form head.
Apply a few coats of cement of your choice.
