Fly Type: Dry,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: Southeast US,
Imitation: Mayflies,
Material List:
Hook: sz 12
Thread: Olive/Light Cahill/Black
Body: Green/tan/black Dubbing
Tail: Barred wood duck fibers
Wing: Hackle tips
Hackle: Grizzly or Red
Tying Instructions: Very Simple to tie. Start with wrapping thread on 2/3 of the shank. At the bend, tie in a pinch of wood duck fibers for the tail. Then, twist the dubbing onto the thread, and dub three fourths up the shank. Next, tie in the two hackle tips and the neck hackle. The tips can either be straight up and down to mimic the fly's resting position, or they can be out flat to imitate a fly that has fallen into the water. FInally, give the neck hackle three or so wraps to the eye of the hook and whip finish.
Presentation Tips: Rest it on top of the water, let it go with the water.
