dremel popper

tied by flymanaj
Fly Type: Poppers/Sliders,
Target Species: Freshwater Bass,
Recommended Region: Southeast US,
Material List:
Gamakatsu b10s stinger hook.
Craft foam
Doll eyes
Strung hackle
Thread of your choice. Its all gonna get glued and covered anyway.
Tying Instructions: Cut the craft foam into squares. I usually cut them just shy of 3/4". Glue the squares together until tour reach the desired body length. Press a finish nail through the center of the stack of foam and secure it in your rotary tool. Turn it on and use a fingernails file to shape the body. (Do not raid you wife's nail polish basket for a file!!! If you do YOU WILL HAVE A BAD TIME!!!) After reaching the desired body shape pull out on the body so that the head of the nail goes into the body. Fold a piece of sandpaper into quarters. Turn the rotary tool on, insert the corner of the sandpaper into the hole and sweep towards the edge making the mouth. Tie in the tail feathers one white and one green on each side of the hook. Tie in the flashabou on the top of the hook. Tie in the skirt and make 3-4 wraps forward and tie off. Wrap the thread to just behind the hook eye. Coat the thread with adhesive and slide the body into place. Glue on the eyes and enjoy!

Presentation Tips: Its a popper. Pop it.
