PT Krystal Nymph

tied by blackdog1101
Fly Type: Nymphs,
Target Species: Trout,
Imitation: Caddis Flies,
Material List:
Hook: Size 14 to 16, TMC2487
Bead: Small pearlescent glass bead
Thread: Rust colored 8/0
Body: Pheasant tail barbs, wrapped
Rib: Fine copper wire
Wing: Pearlescent Krystal Flash
Hackle: Speckled hen saddle or similar
Thorax: Peacock herl
Tying Instructions: The PT Krystal Nymphs is a pretty straightforward tie. I try to keep most of the hen hackle fibers underneath the fly, and only a few on top, which is most similar to the natural.
Presentation Tips: Fish dead drift, and let the current lift it at the end of the drift. I have been using this pattern for 4 seasons now, and it is very effective for me.
