Pearl and Elk

tied by swinks1966
Fly Type: Dry,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: Northeast US,
Imitation: Caddis Flies,
Material List:
Hook: dry fly 14-16
Rib: Fine gold wire
Body: Opal Tinsel
Hackle: Medium Dun or your choice
Thread: White or Olive or Tan
Wing: Stacked Elk
Tying Instructions: This is a Dennis Potter pattern. He showed it to me at a fly tying show, and I tried it in PA and it worked great. The tinsel body really reflects light well, and the trout go nuts for it. Try both the standard dry fly presentation and also skittering it across the surface. at the end of the drift, let it swing across the surface.
