Mr. Buell's Bream Getter

tied by ArkieFlyGuy
Fly Type: Wet,
Target Species: Panfish,
Recommended Region: Southeast US, Southwest US, Central US,
Material List:
Mr. Buell's Bream Getter

Hook: Standard wet 14 - 8
Thread: Black, 6/0 or heavier
Weight: Tyer's choice
Body: Black chenille with sparkle center *
Tail: Flashabou or Krystal Flash
Wing: Rubber legs

* Color can be varied. Ice chenille makes a nice looking fly as well.

Tying Instructions: Wrap weight around hook shank.
Tie in tail and chenille.
Build up body of thread to taper.
Wrap chenille to about 1/8" behind eye.
Tie in two strands of silli legs to make four strands stand out from thorax.
Make sure these fan out.
Wrap thread to form head.
Whip finish.
I use Sally Hansen's to glue the head.
Presentation Tips: According to my friend, "Mr. Buell", who introduced this fly to me, he fishes this fly about 18" below a popper. You will get hits on both flies. I've fished it alone and gotten many hits, but more with a popper or indicator to move water above and attract attention.
