Hook- 3/0 trey Combs Big Game; Thread- your choice; Tail- Saddle Hackles (In the picture, usually white or Charteuse0, with pearl flashabou; Collar- same color of Rabbit strip tied around the hook shank; head- Clouser dumbell and epoxy
Tying Instructions: This fly was originated by harry Koons of Nauset Anglers in Orleans on Cape Cod and is extremely effective as a general bait fish immitation but has also done well as a sand eel imitation. At one time I fished this fly exclusively for one whole season and landed my largest striper on it at 45 inches 30 pounds from the surf.
