, Material List:
dry fly hook, lt. cahil 8/0 uni, yellow bucktail tail.
red floss, yellow superfine and a badger hackle palmered through,
thorax. chartreuse dubbing and more yelow.
on each side an olive biot
wing. yellow deer hair tied elk hair caddis style badger hackleTying Instructions:
tie on tail then floss. attach body hackle then dub forward with yellow superfine, palmer hackle then add thorax dubbing. add one biot per side then add hackle feather. add wing, secure with a few firm wraps then advance thread forward under the tag ends of the wing to prop it up. do not trim wing butts yet, wrap hackle and then tie down the stem where the thread is hanging. whip finish trim away any unnessary hackle barbs, clip wing butts. I tie the wing and hackle this way as i feel it makes the fly stronger.
