Tying Instructions: This fly is not easy to tie the first time... The bucktail must be placed on the shank in the direction of the hook eye... tied in and then pushed back over the tie toward the hook bend and tied down. It must be tied down so that it flares slightly out in a 360 degree pattern... angel hair is added .. then the next clump tied in the same way.. a bit shorter than the first.... with more angel hair... Than the fly must be wet down with hot water to help it with the profile... The flare should not be out to high, yet Bob Popovics seems to be able to get the right results even with the fly looking like a porcupine.
