Stockard store. Tying Instructions: Carefully place hook in vice. Lay down a layer of thread. Add lead wire and carefully tie down. Tie down Peacock herl, gold wire and brown hackle facing backwards at the tail of the hook. Dub on a good fat nymph body but be carefull not to crowd the eye of the hook. Wrap the hackle up to the eye palmer style and tie down. Wrap the gold wire up the hook in the opposite direction that you wrapped the hackle and tie it down. Pull the peacock herl up over the back of the nymph, tie off and trim (To not twist). Wrap on a good head and whip finish. Presentation Tips: This fly was inventer by the famous New Mexico guide Talyor Streit. And it is rumored to catch only big trout. This is my GOTO prospecting nymph. I fish this fly DEEP on a dead drift with a much smaller dropper. Most takes are strong and occur at the end of the drift when the fly is rising. | Other Flies Tied by lanvaettir
