Tying Instructions: Attach tag/tip, tail then butt. And silver rib. advance thread forward about the same distance as the tag tail butt. Attach first body section and wind it rearward to the butt then spiral wrap it back followed by first rib. Leave all tag ends long and wrap over them to the return eye wire on the side of the shank and back. Clip off and then with a smooth flat thread make a taper in the under body and bind down the return eye wire. With the thread hanging at the end of the first body section. Add second rib, body hackle and counter rib. spin on dubbing and wrap forward toward eye. Spiral wrap second rib with 5 turns , followed by the hackle and counter rib, throat and wing.
The hackle was stripped from the shaft by slowly pulling on a couple of barbs toward the feathers base. What is left is the barbs attached to a fine but strong stem section.
Presentation Tips: This fly was tied as a presentation fly but with its colour would make a great winter steel head fly
