Tying Instructions: Tie on thread then wings spilt with figure 8's and then wrap thread arround base of each wing 4 times. Cover the base of the wings and clip excess fibers. Stack a fairly small clump of yellow bucktail and trim the butt ends to line up with the base of the wings. cover the bucktail with thread wraps back to just before the barb. Make a few loose wraps of thread tO "just hold' the bucktail and then secure with a few firm wraps in front of these. Add rid and dub thread and wrap forward to form body. spiral wrap rib add hackles and then wind them forward. tie off and form a small neat head. Then pull up all the hackles to the sides, To give this fly a lower sitting position
Presentation Tips: I tied this fly for lake fishing but it can be used anywhere the big yellow mayflies are present. In river fishing I would leave the hackles full, rather than drawing them up and to the sides of the fly.
