Fly Type: General Freshwater,
Target Species: Freshwater Bass,
Recommended Region: Northeast US,
I used a Mustad #2 jig type hook( or any heavy 2-3xl hook)
Thread-Black 6/0 thread of your choice
EYES-Large bead chain.
Body- peacock herl
Legs- yellow brisles from a MRClean scrub brush, or legs of your choice.
Tail- Lite-brite peacock herl.
Wings-Flexi-cord light 3/8"silver.
Tying Instructions: Tie eyes on, then secure with a little head cement.
Figure 8 wrap about 3-4 strands of herl around the eyes.
Tie in the tail using the Lite-brite.
Tie in three sets of legs, (three per side). Wait to trim them.
Now use some more herl to fill in the body wrap between the legs. The body should be just under or about half the hook length.
Cut a piece of Flexi cord 1.5 -2 inches Then trim to a wing shape (tear drop)do not cut the bottom leave the crease.
seperate te wings and coat with dave Flexament let dry the repeat.
Tie on wings use some tight wraps to secure. add a few drops of cement.
Wrap a couple of strands of peacock herl at the base of the wings. whip-it
trim legs, bend carefully with a warm bobkin.
color legs if you wish.
Presentation Tips: I like to fish this from a canoe, in the summer.
