Hook: 3/0 Stinger
Thread: 3/0 Chartreuse
Chart. Red, White and Black Deer hair
Chart. Grizz, Olive and White marabou
Orange estaz
Pearl and Chartreuse Krystal Flash
Green Grizzly Rubber legs
Mallard flank dyed yellow
Yellow/Green Grizzly saddle
Eyes: craft eyes (with moving pupil)
Tying Instructions: 1. Hook in vise
2. Attach thread far back on bend
3. Tie in small bunch of Olive Marabou and White Marabou on each side of the bend
3a. Tie in short piece of Orange Estaz underneath the bend, just in front of it, leaving the end hanging (like an egg sac)
4. Tie in Several strands of each color Krystal Flash atop the marabou
5. Tie in one Grizzy Chartreuse marabou feather over each side
6. Tie in one Yellow/Green Grizzly saddle on each side, imitating legs
7. Tie one Mallard dyed yellow feather over each side at the bend
8. Spin Chartreuse Deer for the collar and back of body, then spin:
8. Red
8a. Tie in one set of legs
9 White
9a. Tie in another set of legs
10. Black for the nose.
11. Trim body to shape
12. Give body a light coat of cement (optional)
13. Add eyes (optional)
14. Add weed guard (optional, but very helpful)
Presentation Tips: Toss to weed edges and into lily pads. Fish with a stripping motion. Vary short and long 'til the fish tell you what they want. Tie it in White and you can fish it over open water as a minnow.
