Tube Fly Classic Streamer Conversions
tied by letumgoFly Type: Streamers,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: Northeast US,
Imitation: General Baitfish,
Material List:
Underbody: HMH Single Wall Plastic Tubing and Junction Tubing (Unweighted Versions. You could use aluminum tubing for lightly weighted version, or copper/brass for heavily weighted versions).
Use flexable tubing to hold fly to the hook of your choice. The following hooks work nicely with tube flies (Daiichi Xpoint X510 & Daiichi 2450). Recommended hook sizes - 4, 6 & 8.
Threads:
- White 6/0 Uni-thread under the floss (helps prevent loss of color when the fly gets wet)
- Black 6/0 Uni-thread for the head only.
Body: Four strand Danville Rayon Floss (color of your choice. Go wild, this stuff is cheap.)
Rib: Small Rib (Material and color of your choice)
Wing: Two Furnace Saddle Hackles
Eyes: Imitation Jungle Cock Eyes (one on each side)
Tying Instructions: Tied in same manner as Classic Streamer
Presentation Tips: Make it act all "twitchy" like a fish.
