Recommended Region: Northeast US,
Imitation: General Baitfish,
Material List:
WHite Danville 6/0 Thread
Plastic Tubing (1-1/4 inch long) & Junction Tubing (1/2 inch long)
Silver (Inner Layer) & Pearl Sili Skin (Outter Layer)
1/8 inch stick on eyes
BowTyer Zonker Strip (Polecat) - Gray

Tying Instructions: 1 - Mount Tube
2 - Cut a section of Silver Sili-Skin. Remove adhesive backing and fold over the top of the plastic tubing. Then trim into the shape of a minnow body. This stuf is very sticky and tends to warp badly if you do not put even tension on both sides when you are folding it over the tubing.
3 - Put on stick on eyes on each side of the minnow
4 - Cut a section of Pearl Sili-Skin. Remove adhesive backing and fold over the underbody (silver layer) from the bottom upwards. Trim even with the top side of the body and trim the lower body into the shape of a minnow body.
5 - Attach tying thread to the front of the tube fly and attach the zonker strip. Form a neat head and whip finish the fly. Cut off the thread and reattach at the back end of the fly. Pull back the zonker strip and tye off the the back end of the fly. If you have problems with the hair getting in the way, you can wet the hair to keep it in place.
6 - Whip finish and cut off the tread.
7 - Trim the zonker strip by sawing upwards through the leather side with the one edge of your sizzors.
8 - Decorate the fly with permanent markers (gills, highlights, etc.)
