Simple Stone

tied by siestafred
Fly Type: Nymphs,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: Eastern Canada,
Imitation: Stone Flies,
Material List:
Hook: Orvis 122J Beadhead #12
Thread: 8/0 Black
Bead: Orvis Tungsten 3/32 Black
Tail: Brown Goose Biots
Abdomen: Brown Floss
Rib: Copper Medium Wire
Wing/Shuck: Brown Antron
Thorax: Copper White River Diamond Dubbing
Tying Instructions: Because you can lose so many of these fishing deep, I'm working on simple-to-tie imitation. This one takes less than 10-15 minutes once you get the hang of it. There are lots of really good imitations around, but they're more difficult to tie and I always hesitate to fish them !
