Grizzly Shad

tied by dsaavedra
Fly Type: Streamers,
Target Species: Freshwater Bass,
Recommended Region: Northeast US,
Imitation: General Baitfish,
Material List:
silver dumbbell or bead chain eyes

embossed silver tinsel

gray marabou

grizzly wetfly hackle

pearl flahabou
Tying Instructions: tie on eyes.

tie on a wrap forward tinsel.

tie on large bunch of gray marabou.

tie on a matched pair of large grizzly hackle on either side of hookshank.

tie in around 6 strands of pearl flashabou on either side of hook shank.

whip finish.

Presentation Tips: steady retreive, stop and go retrieve, fish it like any other streamer.

(Note: when wet, the ugly poofy marabou will compress and look alot nicer, and not poofy, it will be about the same width as the hackles, making for a great minnow immitation.)
