Olive Caddis Pupa

tied by blackdog1101
Fly Type: Nymphs,
Target Species: Trout,
Imitation: Caddis Flies,
Material List:
Hook: TMC 2457 or similar caddis pupa hook
Bead: Small black bead
Thread: Black 8/0
Body: About 3/8" green/olive Ultra Chenille
Thorax: Black hares ear dubbing
Wing buds: Raffia trimmed to shape
Antenna: Pheasant tail barbs
Hackle: Brown Partridge feather

Tying Instructions: I submitted this fly a while back to a realistic caddis pupa challenge Jason Neuswanger started. This has become a very useful pattern for me. It offers the best of "realism" without being too cumbersome to tie. The raffia wings can be a bit of a nuisance, and if anyone has a better suggestion for wing buds I'd be glad to learn it.
