CDC Nymph

tied by siestafred
Fly Type: Nymphs,
Target Species: Trout,
Recommended Region: Eastern Canada,
Imitation: Mayflies,
Material List: Hook: Any Curved Nymph hook such as Orvis 122J
Thread: 8/0 Camel
Weight: Lead Wire
Tail: Pheasant Tail Fibers
Body: 1 or 2 Ginger CDC Feathers Palmered
Rib; Gold Wire
Wingcase: Pheasant Tail
Thorax: Olive CDC Feather Palmered
Legs: Pumpkin/Black Flake Sili Legs

Tying Instructions: Tie CDC feathers in by the tip, and palmer forward. You can twist them a bit into a rope if you prefer. This fly is meant to look "buggy" when wet, so the CDC is best left scraggly. Trim the longer barbules back if desired.
This fly is based on a pattern I saw in a British magazine article, but I've lost track of where I put it !
