crazy crystal bugger

tied by JSzymczyk
Fly Type: General Freshwater,
Material List: Hook: Mustad 3366 #6, 4, 2. Barb crimped, and a slight down-eye bend put in the shank with round-jaw wire bending pliers. Or just use an equivalent down-eye hook.

Brass hourglass eyes
Polar Chenille
Silicone Crazy Legs
3/0 monocord
Krystal Flash for a topping if desired
Tying Instructions: Tie in the hourglass eyes just aft of the hook eye, leaving enough room for one figure-8 of body material over and in front of the eyes without crowding the hook eye.

Tail: double furled Polar Chenille- combed out, with 3 silicone crazy legs on each side.

Body: a doubled length of Polar Chenille, slightly twisted and combed out. Pull all fibers back towards the rear during each wrap to avoid trapping fibers, and to keep a bushy buggy look. Wrap to contact the back of the brass eyes, then figure-8 one time around the brass eyes, tying off in front of the brass eyes.

Invert and add a topping of krystal flash if desired.

colors and combinations are wide-open.

Presentation Tips: Fish crawdad colors like a crawdad. Fish minnow colors like a minnow. Fish attractor colors any way you can. Dead drift, sit on the bottom, fast strip, cross-current swing.
