Four-Bird Special

tied by deeky
Fly Type: Wet,
Target Species: Panfish,
Recommended Region: Central US,
Material List:
Hook: Mustad 3399A, Size 12
Thread: Uni Thread, 8/0 Black
Tail: Golden Pheasant Tippet
Body: Peacock Herl
Rib: Uni Floss, Yellow
Beard: Mallard Flank
Wing: Guinea Fowl
Tying Instructions: Start with the tail and work your way forward. For the body, I tie in the rib and then 4-5 herls. After tying in the tips, I wrap the herl around the tying thread and wrap the whole thing forward. Then, I untwist the remaining herl from the thread and tie it off. The mallard and guinea get tied in as clumps rather than a palmered hackle.
